As of this writing, the medical use of cannabis (with a doctor’s recommendation) is legal in 36 states, 5 territories and the District of Columbia, and recreational use is legalized in 18 states, the District of Columbia and 2 territories. Despite cannabis remaining illegal federally, many compounds are approved for use in prescription drugs and various consumable products. Of course ensuring regulatory compliance is key for cannabis businesses, but paramount for consumers is testing to ensure the safety and quality of consumables.
