The 2022 Northeastern Association of Forensic Scientists (NEAFS) will hold its annual meeting October 17-21st at the Niagara Falls Convention Center, Niagara Falls, NY. GenTech Scientific will be exhibiting at NEAFS the 18th-20th at Booth 19.
According to the organization’s website, the Northeastern Association of Forensic Scientists (NEAFS) was founded in 1975 by a group of “forensic scientists dedicated to improving the professional status and technical capabilities of individuals engaged in all phases of forensic science.”[1] In 1976 the first annual meeting of the Association was held, a one-day event replete with two general interest talks, several split sessions on different topics, a mixer and dinner — initiating traditions that continue to this day.
This year’s event will feature presentations by law enforcement on two well known cases solved by forensic science – Buffalo’s “Bike Path Rapist/Killer” and the “Allenstown Four.” The President’s Reception on the 20th is Halloween-themed and attendees are invited to come dressed in costume and be entered in the costume contest.
For GenTech, the proximity of the event means that several members of our team will be able to attend. We caught up with Stacy Gertis, GenTech Scientific Marketing Manager, and asked her how customers can benefit by stopping by the GenTech booth and speaking with our staff:
A lot of people aren’t aware that older instruments can perform the same results of new instrumentation. GenTech’s expertly refurbished instruments provide a particularly good value. We are hoping to help customers find the right instrumentation for their forensic/toxicology laboratory labs – at a fraction of the cost of new!
