An Agilent G1389A micro autosampler. It draws small-volume samples from vials or microvials and injects them onto the column for capillary and micro-flow LC methods.

What Agilent says about this module
Agilent built the G1389A to inject as little as 0.01 microliters with a small loop capillary, extending to 40 microliters with an extended loop capillary. The standard tray holds 100 2-milliliter vials. Microvials at 100 or 300 microliters run with sleeve adapters, though cooling performance drops with microvials installed. Minimum sample volume runs to 1 microliter, drawn from a 5-microliter sample in a 100-microliter microvial or a 10-microliter sample in a 300-microliter microvial. Stainless steel, sapphire, PTFE, PEEK, and fused silica make up the parts in contact with solvent. Fused silica capillaries set the practical upper limit on pH compatibility. Early Maintenance Feedback keeps an electronic record of maintenance and errors. The autosampler draws 200 watts and weighs 14.2 kilograms. It communicates over CAN, GPIB, RS-232C, and APG Remote, with optional external contact closures and BCD vial number output. Built-in leak detection and low maintenance-area voltages support safe operation.

What “GenTech Certified” means
Refurbishment at GenTech is a defined process, not a wipe-down. Every system moves through the same five stages.
1. Disassembly and rebuild. Solution Scientists strip the instrument down, clean each module inside and out, and rebuild it from the frame up. They replace pump seals, pistons, and check valves to specification.
2. Configuration and new parts. Solution Scientists install the options and modules you selected and fit new wear parts throughout. They replace the detector lamp with a new one and reset the lamp hours.
3. Diagnostic and performance testing. Solution Scientists tune and calibrate the instrument, run system diagnostics, and confirm detector wavelength accuracy. They test full-system pressure and gradient performance against OEM and published benchmarks using known reference chemicals.
4. Data package you approve before shipment. The verification data goes to you for approval before the system leaves the bench. You see exactly how the instrument performs before it ships.
5. Delivery and installation. The instrument ships in protective packing with a one-year warranty option and professional installation available from a GenTech Solution Scientist.
