The System

What you are buying

An Agilent G4767A SFC Multisampler. It draws and injects samples for supercritical fluid chromatography, keeping the flow path pressurized throughout to prevent the CO2-based mobile phase from expanding.

Every unit moves through the GenTech Certified process. Solution Scientists disassemble and inspect each module, replace all consumables and degraded wear components, then tune and calibrate the instrument and verify performance against OEM and published benchmarks using known reference chemicals. The instrument ships with its verification report. A certified-refurbished system gives you that performance without the capital cost or the lead time of a new purchase.

What Agilent says about this platform

Agilent built the G4767A around Feed Injection technology, which draws the sample at atmospheric pressure, pressurizes it to system pressure, then injects it through an ultrafast syringing process, since the entire SFC flow path must stay pressurized to prevent the supercritical fluid from expanding. In SFC mode, injection volume runs 0.1 to 90 microliters in 0.1-microliter increments, at pressures to 600 bar with the 100-microliter analytical head. In HPLC or hybrid mode, injection volume extends to 100 microliters, at pressures to 800 bar with the same head. Injection precision holds under 0.15 percent RSD, or under 10 nanoliters standard deviation, whichever is greater, measured with caffeine. The sampler holds up to 16 microtiter plates in shallow well-plate drawers, for up to 6,144 samples, and also accepts 2-milliliter vials. A Cartesian robot handles sample transport. An X-Y drive and a Z drive position the sample trays and the needle. An uncoupled needle design lets the robot perform other liquid handling tasks during an analysis. An active vial or plate pusher holds the container down as the needle withdraws. A compressor-based cooling system maintains temperature control on every vial and plate loaded into the instrument.

What each module does

Pressurized sample injection

Draws each sample at atmospheric pressure, then pressurizes and injects it into the CO2-based mobile phase through Feed Injection technology, keeping the flow path pressurized throughout.

Automated sequencing

Runs unattended sequences from up to 16 microtiter plates or 2-milliliter vials, using a Cartesian robot to position trays and the needle for each injection.

Certification

What “GenTech Certified” means

Refurbishment at GenTech is a defined process, not a wipe-down. Every system moves through the same five stages.

1. Disassembly and rebuild. Solution Scientists strip the instrument down, clean each module inside and out, and rebuild it from the frame up. They replace pump seals, pistons, and check valves to specification.

2. Configuration and new parts. Solution Scientists install the options and modules you selected and fit new wear parts throughout. They replace the detector lamp with a new one and reset the lamp hours.

3. Diagnostic and performance testing. Solution Scientists tune and calibrate the instrument, run system diagnostics, and confirm detector wavelength accuracy. They test full-system pressure and gradient performance against OEM and published benchmarks using known reference chemicals.

4. Data package you approve before shipment. The verification data goes to you for approval before the system leaves the bench. You see exactly how the instrument performs before it ships.

5. Delivery and installation. The instrument ships in protective packing with a one-year warranty option and professional installation available from a GenTech Solution Scientist.

Application Fit

Labs that run this system

The 1260 HPLC is method-compatible across the techniques most regulated and research labs run every day. These are the application areas buyers ask about most.

Pharmaceutical QC

Assay, Impurity and dissolution

The 1260 transfers cleanly into USP monograph assays, related-substance profiling, and dissolution testing. Quaternary blending simplifies mobile-phase transfer between labs.

Environmental

EPA HPLC methods

Diode array detection supports EPA HPLC methods for contaminants and residues in water and soil, including PAHs, explosives, and carbamates.

Food & Beverage

Additives and vitamins

The system quantifies preservatives, sweeteners, organic acids, and fat-soluble vitamins at the throughput a production-support lab needs.

Cannabis & Hemp

Cannabinoid potency

HPLC with UV detection is the reference technique for potency. The 1260 resolves the major cannabinoids for compliance and label-claim testing.

Natural Products

Botanical actives

Labs quantify polyphenols, flavonoids, and marker compounds in extracts and nutraceutical formulations across long, reproducible sequences.

Clinical & Forensic

Screening and drug monitoring

The 1260 runs HPLC-UV workflows for therapeutic drug monitoring and drugs-of-abuse screening, where method portability and uptime matter more than peak novelty.

Chemical & Materials

Purity and additives

Industrial labs separate and quantify synthesis intermediates, polymer additives, and stabilizers for QC and release testing.

Method Development

Four-solvent scouting

Agilent recommends the quaternary pump for method development. Blend up to four solvents to scout selectivity before you lock a final method.

LC/MS Front End

Proteomics, metabolomics, lipidomics

Many omics workflows use mass spectrometry for detection and rely on LC for separation. The 1200 serves as the front end feeding your MS or fraction collector.
