A refurbished Agilent 7700 ICP-MS. The nebulizer forms an aerosol, the argon plasma ionizes the elements, the interface samples the ions into vacuum, the collision cell removes interferences, and the quadrupole measures each element to trace levels.
Every unit moves through the GenTech Certified process. Solution Scientists disassemble and inspect each module, replace all consumables and degraded wear components, then tune and calibrate the instrument and verify performance against OEM and published benchmarks using known reference chemicals. What Agilent says about this platform
Agilent built the 7700 series around a third-generation Octopole Reaction System, the ORS3, with longer and narrower rods and higher cell pressure and frequency than the ORS on the 7500 series. That redesign gives helium mode markedly better interference removal, which Agilent points to as the reason ORS3 and He mode eliminate the need for reactive cell gases in most applications. A frequency-matching 27 MHz RF generator holds the plasma stable through changing sample matrices, including organic solvents. The 7700x variant adds Agilent’s High Matrix Introduction (HMI) as a standard feature, built for routine analysis of high-matrix samples without dilution. Agilent states the 7700 series delivers the highest ion transmission across the mass range of any ICP-MS on the market at launch. MassHunter software runs the instrument, with pre-set plasma conditions and automatic lens tuning to simplify routine method setup.

What “GenTech Certified” means
Refurbishment at GenTech is a defined process, not a wipe-down. Every system moves through the same five stages.
1. Disassembly and rebuild. Solution Scientists strip the instrument down, clean each module inside and out, and rebuild it from the frame up. They replace pump seals, pistons, and check valves to specification.
2. Configuration and new parts. Solution Scientists install the options and modules you selected and fit new wear parts throughout. They replace the detector lamp with a new one and reset the lamp hours.
3. Diagnostic and performance testing. Solution Scientists tune and calibrate the instrument, run system diagnostics, and confirm detector wavelength accuracy. They test full-system pressure and gradient performance against OEM and published benchmarks using known reference chemicals.
4. Data package you approve before shipment. The verification data goes to you for approval before the system leaves the bench. You see exactly how the instrument performs before it ships.
5. Delivery and installation. The instrument ships in protective packing with a one-year warranty option and professional installation available from a GenTech Solution Scientist.

Elemental impurities
USP <232>/<233> and ICH Q3D set limits on catalyst and process-related elemental impurities in drug substances and products. ICP-MS quantifies each targeted element against those limits in a single run.
Metals in water and soil
EPA methods 200.8 and 6020B call for ICP-MS to quantify regulated metals in drinking water, wastewater, and soil digests, often down to parts-per-trillion levels.
