What you are buying
A refurbished Waters Acquity Sample Manager with Fixed Loop Injection, and 48 position 2.00-mL vial plates (2 each). With warranty coverage.
Every unit we sell moves through the GenTech Certified process. Solution Scientists disassemble and inspect each module, replace all consumables and degraded wear components, then tune and calibrate the instrument and verify performance against OEM and published benchmarks using known reference chemicals. The instrument ships with its verification report. A certified-refurbished system gives you that performance without the capital cost or the lead time of a new purchase.
What Waters says about this platform
Waters engineered the ACQUITY UPLC Sample Manager to serve as the high-precision automation core of the industry-standard ACQUITY UPLC system. Designed explicitly to handle the extreme pressure and speed requirements of sub-2-micron particle columns, Waters highlights this module for its exceptional injection reproducibility and ultra-low carryover performance. By utilizing automated needle-in-needle wash routines and optimized fluidics, it minimizes sample contamination down to undetectable levels. It is built to support high-throughput walk-up environments, offering versatile sample compartment temperature controls and flexible plate configurations to maintain sample stability and maximize laboratory uptime.
What this module does
The ACQUITY Sample Manager functions as an advanced autosampler and fluidics manager that optimizes how samples are drawn, conditioned, and introduced into the high-pressure UPLC flow path:
- Precision Injection Handling: It utilizes a high-performance syringe and loop configuration to deliver precise, variable volume injections under extreme pressures, ensuring reliable retention times and sharp peak shapes.
- Active Carryover Mitigation: It automates dual-solvent needle wash cycles, thoroughly cleaning both the interior and exterior of the injection needle between runs to prevent sample-to-sample cross-contamination.
- Sample Environment Control: It continuously regulates the temperature inside the sample compartment, protecting thermally sensitive biological or chemical samples from degradation during long, unattended sample sequences.
- Versatile Plate Management: It coordinates the internal robotics to seamlessly access a wide variety of plate formats—including the included 48-position 2.00-mL vial plates—giving labs the flexibility to scale from standard vials to high-density microplates.

What “GenTech Certified” means
Refurbishment at GenTech is a defined process, not a wipe-down. Every system moves through the same specific stages.
1. Disassembly and rebuild. Solution Scientists strip the instrument down, clean each module inside and out, and rebuild it from the frame up. They replace pump seals, pistons, and check valves to specification.
2. Configuration and new parts. Solution Scientists install the options and modules you selected and fit new wear parts throughout. They replace the detector lamp with a new one and reset the lamp hours.
3. Diagnostic and performance testing. Solution Scientists tune and calibrate the instrument, run system diagnostics, and confirm detector wavelength accuracy. They test full-system pressure and gradient performance against OEM and published benchmarks using known reference chemicals.
4. Delivery and installation. The instrument ships in protective packing with a one-year warranty option and professional installation available from a GenTech Solution Scientist.
Labs that run this system
The Waters Acquity Sample Manager is method-compatible across the techniques most regulated and research labs run every day. These are the application areas buyers ask about most.
High-Pressure Trace Analysis
EPA Method 537.1 and similar state programs require quantitation of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances in drinking water at low parts-per-trillion levels. The ACQUITY Sample Manager ensures the precise, ultra-low volume injection repeatability and minimal system carryover necessary to prevent false positives when running dense environmental sample sequences.
Multi-Residue Extraction & Injection
Multi-residue pesticide panels and mycotoxin screens in food and cannabis testing often cover more than 100 compounds in a single run. The Sample Manager’s active dual-solvent needle wash protocols successfully mitigate complex matrix background carryover, ensuring clean injections across high-throughput sample batches.
Trace impurities and cleaning validation
Pharmaceutical cleaning validation protocols confirm that equipment surfaces carry no detectable residue of the previous product, often down to sub-part-per-billion swab or rinse limits. The advanced fluidics and automated needle washing of this module eliminate sample cross-contamination, ensuring absolute compliance with strict validation thresholds.
High-Throughput Toxicology
Forensic and clinical toxicology panels process large batches of complex biological samples like blood and urine. This module’s temperature-controlled sample compartment protects thermal-sensitive donor specimens from degradation, while its rapid injection cycles maximize daily sample capacity for high-throughput labs.
GLP-Grade Sample Automation
Good Laboratory Practice studies require fully documented, audit-ready sample handling with strict method validation. Supported by compliance-ready software, the ACQUITY Sample Manager provides the automated plate mapping, rugged mechanical reliability, and predictable sample introduction that standard regulated bioanalysis labs depend on.
