What you are buying
An HP 7673A automatic liquid sampler. It draws each sample from a 100-position tray and injects it onto a GC inlet, controlled through a separate controller module rather than a modern CAN bus connection.
Every unit moves through the GenTech Certified process. Solution Scientists disassemble and inspect each module, replace all consumables and degraded wear components, then tune and calibrate the instrument and verify performance against OEM and published benchmarks using known reference chemicals. The instrument ships with its verification report. A certified-refurbished system gives you that performance without the capital cost or the lead time of a new purchase.
What Agilent says about this platform
The HP 7673A automatic sampler is built from three modules. The 18594A controller and communication module supplies power and communications to the injector and the tray. The 18593A injector module draws a volume of sample from a vial and injects it into the inlet using a fast injection technique. The 18596A tray module moves sample vials to and from the injector. An optional 18587A barcode reader module reads vial numbers and special method functions and can also agitate the sample vial. The tray holds 100 samples. Injection precision runs under 0.3 percent for cool on-column inlets and under 0.5 percent for heated packed inlets, across a capillary split range of 50:1 to 400:1. Septum life runs past 200 injections at an 11-millimeter diameter. The 7673B variant added GPIB communication support that the original 7673A lacked, which relied on HPIB and Inet instead. Agilent introduced the platform in 1994 and later discontinued support, leaving parts availability limited today.
What each component does
Controller
The 18594A controller and communication module supplies power and communications to the injector and tray.
Injector
The 18593A injector module draws a sample from its vial and injects it into the inlet using a fast injection technique.
Tray
The 18596A tray module moves each sample vial to and from the injector, holding up to 100 samples.

What “GenTech Certified” means
Refurbishment at GenTech is a defined process, not a wipe-down. Every system moves through the same five stages.
1. Disassembly and rebuild. Solution Scientists strip the instrument down, clean each module inside and out, and rebuild it from the frame up. They replace pump seals, pistons, and check valves to specification.
2. Configuration and new parts. Solution Scientists install the options and modules you selected and fit new wear parts throughout. They replace the detector lamp with a new one and reset the lamp hours.
3. Diagnostic and performance testing. Solution Scientists tune and calibrate the instrument, run system diagnostics, and confirm detector wavelength accuracy. They test full-system pressure and gradient performance against OEM and published benchmarks using known reference chemicals.
4. Data package you approve before shipment. The verification data goes to you for approval before the system leaves the bench. You see exactly how the instrument performs before it ships.
5. Delivery and installation. The instrument ships in protective packing with a one-year warranty option and professional installation available from a GenTech Solution Scientist.
