What you are buying
A GenTech-certified refurbished Agilent 6410 Triple Quadrupole MS (G6410) with ESI source, mechanical pump, data system, and warranty.
Every unit we sell moves through the GenTech Certified process. Solution Scientists disassemble and inspect each module, replace all consumables and degraded wear components, then tune and calibrate the instrument and verify performance against OEM and published benchmarks using known reference chemicals. The instrument ships with its verification report. A certified-refurbished system gives you that performance without the capital cost or the lead time of a new purchase.
What Agilent says about this platform
Agilent engineered the 6410 Triple Quadrupole Mass Spectrometer to transition laboratories from simple single-quadrupole screening to robust, routine quantitative tandem mass spectrometry (MS/MS).
Built on a legendary, space-saving benchtop footprint, Agilent highlights this platform as a rugged workhorse designed to deliver exceptional sensitivity, structural confirmation, and reproducible results day after day. It features a broad mass range (up to \(m/z\) 2,000) and rapid polarity switching, making it an ideal choice for high-throughput target compounds analysis in environmental, food safety, forensic toxicology, and clinical research applications.
What each component does
Agilent 6410 Triple Quadrupole MS (G6410)
The analytical heart of the system. It houses three consecutive quadrupole arrays (Q1, q2, Q3). It filters out background chemical noise, selects target parent ions, fragments them inside a high-collision cell, and detects the resulting daughter ions to eliminate false positives.
Electrospray Ionization (ESI) Source
The gateway into the mass spectrometer. It takes the continuous liquid stream coming from your HPLC front end and uses a high-voltage capillary to aerosolize and charge the liquid molecules into gas-phase ions that the mass spec can physically measure.
Mechanical Vacuum Pump (Roughing Pump)
The foundation of the system’s vacuum environment. This roughing pump pulls the initial vacuum load required to support the instrument’s high-vacuum turbomolecular pumps, ensuring ions can travel cleanly through the quadrupoles without colliding with air molecules.
Data System
The control center. Installed on the included PC terminal, this software manages the instrument parameters, coordinates synchronization with your front-end HPLC stack, handles data acquisition, and processes quantitative mass spectrometry data.
Comprehensive Warranty Coverage
Your operational peace of mind. Our rigorous multi-point inspection and refurbishment process ensures the instrument meets or exceeds original factory testing specifications, backed by warranty coverage to protect your lab’s investment from day one.
Liquid chromatograph (Sold Separately)
When paired with a compatible front end, such as an 1100 or 1200 Series HPLC, the front end separates the mixture and delivers a reproducible gradient to the source. This listing is only the mass spec; the LC front end is sold separately.

What “GenTech Certified” means
Refurbishment at GenTech is a defined process, not a wipe-down. Every system moves through the same five stages.
1. Disassembly and rebuild. Solution Scientists strip the instrument down, clean each module inside and out, and rebuild it from the frame up. They replace pump seals, pistons, and check valves to specification.
2. Configuration and new parts. Solution Scientists install the options and modules you selected and fit new wear parts throughout. They replace the detector lamp with a new one and reset the lamp hours.
3. Diagnostic and performance testing. Solution Scientists tune and calibrate the instrument, run system diagnostics, and confirm detector wavelength accuracy. They test full-system pressure and gradient performance against OEM and published benchmarks using known reference chemicals.
4. Delivery and installation. The instrument ships in protective packing with a one-year warranty option and professional installation available from a GenTech Solution Scientist.
Labs that run this system
The 6410 is method-compatible across the techniques most regulated and research labs run every day. These are the application areas buyers ask about most.
Pesticides, Herbicide Runoff, and Veterinary Drugs
The 6410 is perfect for routine EPA methods tracking industrial wastewater contaminants, agricultural runoff, and river water monitoring.
Pesticides and mycotoxins
The 6410 is a workhorse for identifying mycotoxins, pesticide residues, and adulterants in food matrices. Excellent for R&D labs or cannabis processing facilities checking internal quality.
Trace impurities and cleaning validation
Pharmaceutical cleaning validation protocols confirm that equipment surfaces carry no detectable residue of the previous product, often down to sub-part-per-billion swab or rinse limits.
Quantitative toxicology
This is the 6410’s sweet spot. It is widely used in high-throughput labs for quantitative toxicology panels, screening donor samples for drugs of abuse, therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM), and pain management compliance panels.
GLP-grade quantitation
Good Laboratory Practice studies require documented, audit-ready quantitation with full method validation, a standard regulated bioanalysis labs run routinely on triple quadrupole platforms.
Quantitative MS/MS workflows
University chemistry and biochemistry departments love the 6410. It is the ultimate “teaching instrument” because it is incredibly rugged, reliable, and affordable for student labs learning how to run quantitative MS/MS workflows.
