A refurbished Shimadzu LCMS-8060 with a Nexera UHPLC front end. The Nexera pump and autosampler separate the mixture and deliver a reproducible gradient to the source. The 8060’s ion source converts the eluent into gas-phase ions. The triple quadrupole isolates a precursor, fragments it, and measures the product ion at trace levels. Shimadzu positions the LCMS-8060 as the flagship of its triple quadrupole line, built on the same 30,000 u per second scan speed and 5 millisecond polarity switching as the LCMS-8050. An optimized ion guide, UF-Qarray, and updated ion transport optics raise ion sampling efficiency and focusing, which Shimadzu reports as roughly three times the sensitivity of the LCMS-8050. A UFsweeper III collision cell, filled with argon gas, reaches dwell times of 0.8 milliseconds per MRM transition. Shimadzu’s Nexera pumps reach up to 130 megapascals, or 1,300 bar, with a flow range from 0.1 microliters to 10 milliliters per minute and flow accuracy within 1 percent or 2 microliters per minute, whichever is greater. A parallel dual micro-plunger design, each plunger holding 10 microliters, keeps pulsation low and the baseline stable. The SIL-30AC autosampler shares the same 130-megapascal pressure rating and injects a sample in as little as 10 seconds. Auto-diagnostic and auto-recovery functions detect abnormal pressure fluctuations and respond automatically, limiting sample loss and downtime.

Nexera pump and autosampler
Delivers a reproducible gradient at up to 1,300 bar and injects a precise volume from a vial, with a SIL-30AC autosampler capable of a 10-second injection cycle.
Ion source
Converts the liquid eluent into gas-phase ions ahead of the analyzer, handling the polarity switching needed for simultaneous positive and negative ion methods.
Mass analyzer
Two quadrupoles flank a UFsweeper III argon-filled collision cell. The first selects a precursor, the cell fragments it, and the second measures a product ion, running MS/MS scans and MRM measurements in the same acquisition.
Vacuum and detection
Stages the ions from atmosphere to high vacuum, then counts them at the detector.

What “GenTech Certified” means
Refurbishment at GenTech is a defined process, not a wipe-down. Every system moves through the same five stages.
1. Disassembly and rebuild. Solution Scientists strip the instrument down, clean each module inside and out, and rebuild it from the frame up. They replace pump seals, pistons, and check valves to specification.
2. Configuration and new parts. Solution Scientists install the options and modules you selected and fit new wear parts throughout. They replace the detector lamp with a new one and reset the lamp hours.
3. Diagnostic and performance testing. Solution Scientists tune and calibrate the instrument, run system diagnostics, and confirm detector wavelength accuracy. They test full-system pressure and gradient performance against OEM and published benchmarks using known reference chemicals.
4. Data package you approve before shipment. The verification data goes to you for approval before the system leaves the bench. You see exactly how the instrument performs before it ships.
5. Delivery and installation. The instrument ships in protective packing with a one-year warranty option and professional installation available from a GenTech Solution Scientist.
