A refurbished Agilent 6460 Triple Quadrupole LC/MS with a 1200 HPLC front end. The 1200 pump and sampler separate the mixture and deliver a reproducible gradient to the source. The 6460’s Jet Stream ion source converts the eluent into gas-phase ions with high efficiency. The triple quadrupole isolates a precursor, fragments it, and measures the product ion at trace levels. GenTech rebuilds and tests the LC, the source, and the analyzer, then verifies the system end to end.
Every unit moves through the GenTech Certified process. What Agilent says about this platform
Agilent built the 6460 around Jet Stream technology, a super-heated nitrogen sheath gas that collimates the nebulizer spray and increases the number of ions that reach the mass spectrometer. Along with the 6490, the 6460 is one of only two Agilent triple quadrupole models to use Jet Stream; the 6410 and 6430 do not. The Q1 and Q2 quadrupoles cover a mass range to 3,000 m/z. Autotune reaches sensitivity and resolution specifications without manual adjustment. Scan modes cover MS scan, MS/MS product ion scan, MRM, and MS/MS neutral loss or gain scan. Agilent reports performance in signal-to-noise ratio and instrument detection limit, a statistically based measure of practical sensitivity. MassHunter Workstation software runs acquisition alongside compliance and method optimization tools.
What each module does
Liquid chromatograph
Separates the mixture and delivers a reproducible gradient to the source. The 1200 front end runs the same pumps and samplers as a standalone HPLC.
Jet Stream Ion source
Converts the liquid eluent into gas-phase ions. A super-heated nitrogen sheath gas collimates the spray, increasing the share of ions that reach the analyzer..
Mass analyzer
Two quadrupoles, each covering a mass range to 3,000 m/z, flank a collision cell. The first selects a precursor, the cell fragments it, and the second measures a product ion at trace levels.
Vacuum and detection
Stages the ions from atmosphere to high vacuum, then counts them at the detector.

What “GenTech Certified” means
Refurbishment at GenTech is a defined process, not a wipe-down. Every system moves through the same five stages.
1. Disassembly and rebuild. Solution Scientists strip the instrument down, clean each module inside and out, and rebuild it from the frame up. They replace pump seals, pistons, and check valves to specification.
2. Configuration and new parts. Solution Scientists install the options and modules you selected and fit new wear parts throughout. They replace the detector lamp with a new one and reset the lamp hours.
3. Diagnostic and performance testing. Solution Scientists tune and calibrate the instrument, run system diagnostics, and confirm detector wavelength accuracy. They test full-system pressure and gradient performance against OEM and published benchmarks using known reference chemicals.
4. Data package you approve before shipment. The verification data goes to you for approval before the system leaves the bench. You see exactly how the instrument performs before it ships.
5. Delivery and installation. The instrument ships in protective packing with a one-year warranty option and professional installation available from a GenTech Solution Scientist.
