What you are buying
A refurbished Agilent 6530 Q-TOF LC/MS with a 1260 HPLC front end. The 1260 pump and sampler separate the mixture and deliver a reproducible gradient to the source. The 6530’s ion source converts the eluent into gas-phase ions. The quadrupole and time-of-flight analyzer record accurate-mass spectra for screening, characterization, and unknown identification. GenTech rebuilds and tests the LC, the source, and the analyzer, then verifies the system end to end.
Every unit moves through the GenTech Certified process. What Agilent says about this platform
Agilent built the 6530 around a quadrupole and time-of-flight analyzer covering a mass range of m/z 100 to 20,000 in extended mass mode. Mass resolving power exceeds 20,000 FWHM at m/z 1,522, with mass accuracy within 2 to 3 parts per million across repeat injections. Agilent rates MS-mode sensitivity at 1 picogram of reserpine on-column at a 400-microliter-per-minute flow rate, with a signal-to-noise ratio of 200 to 1 while holding that same resolution. MS/MS mode reaches a signal-to-noise ratio of 500 to 1 on the most intense product ions. The 6530 can pair with the Agilent Jet Stream ion source, which uses a super-heated nitrogen sheath gas to confine the electrospray and reported roughly a five-fold gain in signal intensity over a conventional ESI source. MassHunter software handles profiling, characterization, identification, and quantification. The system pairs with UHPLC, 2D-LC, SFC, or GC-APCI chromatographic interfaces.
What each module does
Liquid chromatograph
Separates the mixture and delivers a reproducible gradient to the source. The 1260 front end runs the same pumps, samplers, and detectors as a standalone HPLC.
Ion source
Converts the liquid eluent into gas-phase ions. Electrospray and Agilent Jet Stream handle polar and large molecules; atmospheric-pressure chemical ionization covers the less-polar compounds.
Mass analyzer
A quadrupole selects ions; a time-of-flight analyzer measures their mass to high accuracy and resolution, which supports accurate-mass screening and the characterization of proteins, metabolites, and unknowns.
Vacuum and detection
Stages the ions from atmosphere to high vacuum, then counts them at the detector.

What “GenTech Certified” means
Refurbishment at GenTech is a defined process, not a wipe-down. Every system moves through the same five stages.
1. Disassembly and rebuild. Solution Scientists strip the instrument down, clean each module inside and out, and rebuild it from the frame up. They replace pump seals, pistons, and check valves to specification.
2. Configuration and new parts. Solution Scientists install the options and modules you selected and fit new wear parts throughout. They replace the detector lamp with a new one and reset the lamp hours.
3. Diagnostic and performance testing. Solution Scientists tune and calibrate the instrument, run system diagnostics, and confirm detector wavelength accuracy. They test full-system pressure and gradient performance against OEM and published benchmarks using known reference chemicals.
4. Data package you approve before shipment. The verification data goes to you for approval before the system leaves the bench. You see exactly how the instrument performs before it ships.
5. Delivery and installation. The instrument ships in protective packing with a one-year warranty option and professional installation available from a GenTech Solution Scientist.
