A refurbished Agilent 7500 ICP-MS. The nebulizer forms an aerosol, the argon plasma ionizes the elements, the interface samples the ions into vacuum, the collision cell removes interferences, and the quadrupole measures each element to trace levels.
Every unit moves through the GenTech Certified process. Solution Scientists disassemble and inspect each module, replace all consumables and degraded wear components, then tune and calibrate the instrument and verify performance against OEM and published benchmarks using known reference chemicals. What Agilent says about this platform
Agilent built the Octopole Reaction System into the 7500 series to remove polyatomic interferences without swapping methods between elements. The ORS runs helium collision mode with kinetic energy discrimination, or a reactive cell gas for mass-shift chemistry, using the same octopole cell and conditions across the full element suite. An off-axis Omega ion lens gives the system high ion transmission and low background, which Agilent points to for its detection limits. Agilent states the 7500 series delivers the best detection limits of any multi-element technique, with a complete elemental panel achievable in under five minutes per sample. ChemStation software runs the instrument and, from revision B.03.02, adds pre-emptive rinsing and the ability to sequence GC or LC methods directly from the ICP-MS sequence table for speciation work.

What “GenTech Certified” means
Refurbishment at GenTech is a defined process, not a wipe-down. Every system moves through the same five stages.
1. Disassembly and rebuild. Solution Scientists strip the instrument down, clean each module inside and out, and rebuild it from the frame up. They replace pump seals, pistons, and check valves to specification.
2. Configuration and new parts. Solution Scientists install the options and modules you selected and fit new wear parts throughout. They replace the detector lamp with a new one and reset the lamp hours.
3. Diagnostic and performance testing. Solution Scientists tune and calibrate the instrument, run system diagnostics, and confirm detector wavelength accuracy. They test full-system pressure and gradient performance against OEM and published benchmarks using known reference chemicals.
4. Data package you approve before shipment. The verification data goes to you for approval before the system leaves the bench. You see exactly how the instrument performs before it ships.
5. Delivery and installation. The instrument ships in protective packing with a one-year warranty option and professional installation available from a GenTech Solution Scientist.

Elemental impurities
USP <232>/<233> and ICH Q3D set limits on catalyst and process-related elemental impurities in drug substances and products. ICP-MS quantifies each targeted element against those limits in a single run.

EPA methods 200.8 and 6020B call for ICP-MS to quantify regulated metals in drinking water, wastewater, and soil digests, often down to parts-per-trillion levels.
