What you are buying
A refurbished Agilent 6430 Triple Quadrupole LC/MS with a 1200 HPLC front end. The 1200 pump and sampler separate the mixture and deliver a reproducible gradient to the source. The 6430’s ion source converts the eluent into gas-phase ions. The triple quadrupole isolates a precursor, fragments it, and measures the product ion at trace levels. GenTech rebuilds and tests the LC, the source, and the analyzer, then verifies the system end to end.
Every unit moves through the GenTech Certified process. Solution Scientists disassemble and inspect each module, replace all consumables and degraded wear components, then tune and calibrate the instrument and verify performance against OEM and published benchmarks using known reference chemicals. The instrument ships with its verification report. A certified-refurbished system gives you that performance without the capital cost or the lead time of a new purchase.
What Agilent says about this platform
Agilent built the 6430 as a step up from the entry-level 6410, adding a second turbo pump, improved pumping in the second vacuum stage, and updated collision cell lenses. MS cycle times run as short as 100 milliseconds, capturing at least ten data points across a one-second peak. Dwell time runs as low as 1 millisecond. A resistively coated capillary lets the instrument switch polarity and resume data acquisition within 30 milliseconds. The system supports up to 19,800 MRM transitions, with up to 4,000 dynamic MRM transitions per method. Agilent designed the 6430 for compatibility with UHPLC separations and its own HPLC-Chip interface, frequently pairing it with a 1200 or 1260 Infinity HPLC front end. MassHunter software controls acquisition and data analysis. Agilent Jet Stream technology is not part of the 6430; that ion source is reserved for the 6460 and higher models in the triple quadrupole line.
What each module does
Liquid chromatograph
Separates the mixture and delivers a reproducible gradient to the source. The 1200 front end runs the same pumps and samplers as a standalone HPLC.
Ion source
Converts the liquid eluent into gas-phase ions, compatible with Agilent’s HPLC-Chip interface for chip-based separations.
Mass analyzer
Two quadrupoles flank a collision cell, with a second turbo pump and updated collision cell lenses over the entry-level 6410. The first selects a precursor, the cell fragments it, and the second measures a product ion at trace levels.
Vacuum and detection
Stages the ions from atmosphere to high vacuum, then counts them at the detector.

What “GenTech Certified” means
Refurbishment at GenTech is a defined process, not a wipe-down. Every system moves through the same five stages.
1. Disassembly and rebuild. Solution Scientists strip the instrument down, clean each module inside and out, and rebuild it from the frame up. They replace pump seals, pistons, and check valves to specification.
2. Configuration and new parts. Solution Scientists install the options and modules you selected and fit new wear parts throughout. They replace the detector lamp with a new one and reset the lamp hours.
3. Diagnostic and performance testing. Solution Scientists tune and calibrate the instrument, run system diagnostics, and confirm detector wavelength accuracy. They test full-system pressure and gradient performance against OEM and published benchmarks using known reference chemicals.
4. Data package you approve before shipment. The verification data goes to you for approval before the system leaves the bench. You see exactly how the instrument performs before it ships.
5. Delivery and installation. The instrument ships in protective packing with a one-year warranty option and professional installation available from a GenTech Solution Scientist.
